Schedule in advance. If you wish, you can also specify a delivery date up to 1 year in advance of the purchase date. You can view the delivery date for scheduled Facebook gift cards in Your Account. If the delivery date is incorrect, simply cancel the gift card order and place a new one. Note: You'll be charged 1-2 days before your Facebook gift card is delivered if you schedule a future delivery date. We'll send you an e-mail reminder when the delivery date nears.

The facebook delivery system sure made it easy for ME... Unfortunately the recipients had a very hard time redeeming them because of various security walls. My son even had to call me to admit he couldn't get it and i needed to have it cancelled and resent from Amazon via email...
His girlfriend spent most of the day figuring how to redeem hers... and i wanted these to be fun gifts not technical computer walls.
Amazon is the best, but this method was problematic...
So stick to buying them directly through Amazon and just send your recipient a note via facebook.

I sent this gift card by Facebook. The person I sent this gift card STILL CAN NOT open it!!!! I sent this the end of SEPTEMBER... So don't send gift cards by Facebook. Thumbs Down!

The convenience is great. I've used them in the past and will continue to use them.
I'd love to see some feedback from Amazon when a gift card is initially used. This would give me confirmation that the card is getting used and not lost.
